Have you ever considered a sublimation blankets item? You may have regarded it as sublimating a blanket but have questions about whether or not it’s even possible. Sublimating blankets is a pleasant and rewarding hobby for those with the proper equipment.
The Blanket
Besides the usual connotations of “custom,” such as “warm,” “soft,” “fuzzy,” and “cozy,” when you think of a blanket, what other adjectives spring to mind? Everyone may find comfort in a blanket, but having one personalized with a photo, name, or another memento from a loved one makes it much more meaningful.
A Picture-Perfect Illustration
Choosing an image can be time-consuming but made easier if you have a good relationship with the subject or are attempting to sell them something. The most common responses were fan art for TV series, characters, phrases, or photo collages of loved ones.
Preheat
Get the heat press ready for use. No one wants to wait around while the press heats up, so preheat it before you start. The press should be adjusted to 385 degrees or higher (up to 400) depending on how hot your press runs. A thermometer gun can provide enlightening data if you’re on the fence.
Under Pressure
It may seem strange that you don’t need to apply much pressure to the heat press to achieve sublimation, as is a common belief. The opposite is true; a higher temperature than HTV and equal pressure are all required. In most cases, a medium-pressure setting on the press will do the trick.
Reproduce The Picture
The file is prepared for printing. To print an image, you should locate it on your computer, phone, or tablet and then select the image and its size in the program of your choice. Then you should load ink and sublimation paper into your printer. At this point, you can proceed to print.
Release It
An essential action, especially with blankets, is to “roll it out” with a lint roller, i.e., to move the roller over the area where the picture would be placed. Because blankets are fluffy and soft, the possibility of fuzz being dispersed throughout the blanket is high. If you don’t do this, your blanket can develop blank areas after you wash it for the first time, making you worry that it’s coming apart.
Use Tape
Pick up the heat-resistant tape, tear it into strips, and lay them out on the table or someplace else they may be quickly retrieved and used to secure the blanket. Your printed sublimation picture should be placed face-down on the mantle and taped around the borders to ensure it is in place. This procedure is taken to prevent the picture from shifting around before, during, and after the pressing process.
Press
Activate the picture by pressing it now! Put the image on butcher paper, close the press, and heat it to 385 degrees for 60 seconds while applying mild to medium pressure. Then, while being careful not to disturb the image, you can relax the press and remove the butcher paper.
